ThirdEye is a young London-based start-up building advanced machine learning algorithms to allow computers to understand and respond to human behaviour on CCTV cameras. Thereby, it helps brick-and-mortar retailers increase in-store productivity. The software sits on top of CCTV cameras to analyse stores and generates insight like what customers are looking at and interacting with, when a queue at a check-out point will develop, where staff are deployed, when a shoplifting occurs and how full shelves are. This insight will be integrated to new solutions, such as reduction and prevention of shrinkage and stock-outs, A/B testing for brick-and-mortar and elimination of flash queues. Also, all data get anonymised even before processing, which ensures full GDPR compliance. By augmenting in-store colleagues with technology, ThirdEye makes them do their job twice as efficient.
